“wellness and health promotion:  impact on chiropractic education, clinical practice and research”
JULY 24 – 26, 2022*
location:  san diego, ca

Due to the hotel recently receiving their sleeping room renovation schedule, and the fact that Comicon is ending Saturday, July 23rd, we are unable to secure enough Saturday night rooms to accommodate our working groups meeting on Sunday. Because of this change, we will be holding the working group meetings on Wednesday, July 27th after the end of the conference, rather than at the beginning.

With the continuing COVID conditions, risks and restrictive institutional travel policies during the pandemic, the ACC  Board has elected to postpone ACC-RAC 2022 until July 24-26, 2022 to allow broader attendance and safer  participation. Please note the new dates are not a typical ACC-RAC Thursday, Friday, Saturday format. The ACC  Working Groups will meet on Sunday, July 24th. The Welcome Reception will be Sunday, July 24th as well, with the conference  opening on Monday, July 25th and ending Tuesday afternoon July 26th.

The ACC-RAC Conference has grown to be the premier chiropractic educational conference drawing the profession’s leaders from around the world. The ACC-RAC program held its first conference as the Association of Chiropractic Colleges Educational Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1994. These early conferences consisted of the ACC Working Group Meetings in addition to scientific peer-reviewed presentations. The ACC Working Group meetings provide an opportunity for the administration and staff from the ACC member chiropractic educational institutions to meet, collaborate, and plan for the future of the chiropractic profession. The ACC scientific peer-reviewed sessions, provide an opportunity for the research community to gather and share their latest findings. In 2002, the ACC Educational Conference expanded to hold a joint conference in conjunction with the Research Agenda Conference (RAC).

The RAC originally grew out of an initiative from the US Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA). In 1995, a contract was awarded to develop and execute a meeting designed primarily to improve the emerging research capacity, knowledge, and productivity of chiropractic science, which became the RAC meetings. Much of the work generated from the RAC meetings have been published in journals, such as the position papers published in the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics. Since the 2002 joint ACC and RAC meeting, the conference is now held as one conference, the ACC-RAC.

The ACC-RAC is designed to meet the needs of the chiropractic academic and research community and provides an outlet for discussion of our shared educational, scholarly and research-related enterprises. ACC-RAC has also become the major venue for the pre-publication presentation of new data from the educational, clinical, and basic science domains that comprise the chiropractic knowledge base.

The annual ACC-RAC brings together faculty, administrators, policy makers, and practitioners to discover and share new knowledge to help solve the challenges inherent in the educational sector of our profession that is both growing and facing new opportunities and challenges. Each year, the multidisciplinary Program Planning Committee decides on a timely and important theme to focus the plenary presentations and workshops. The theme for this year’s program is “Wellness and Health Promotion:  Impact on Chiropractic Education, Clinical Practice and Research.”

We continue our commitment to educational excellence. This year we celebrate our 28th meeting. The 2022 program demonstrates the commitment of the conference organizers to provide the attendees with the best possible information from recognized experts in a variety of presentation formats. Every attempt has been made to identify and provide topics for several specific audiences so that everyone comes away with valuable information. We hope that you will agree this is a “do not miss” event.

Enjoy the conference!
